It can be mounted in any location you like, but this is the closest location to where you hook up your lines. This auxiliary cooler is gonna help keep your transmission fluid at normal, lower operating temperatures. So when you're hauling heavy loads, and putting more stress on your transmission, that fluid temperature's not gonna rise up and cause potential transmission damage. It's gonna keep that temperature more regulated, to it'll be a normal operating temperature even under the most stressful conditions. more
